For those who say that running high-speed light rail down the Byron linear park is similar to the street-car system there of yesteryear, perhaps they should examine this video.
That’s high speed today versus a line that crawled yesterday. The high-speed line, not a trolley, would be much more invasive than the streetcars of years gone by. And the economic uplift (commercial development along the line) would destroy two working, beautiful residential neighbourhoods. Why would you do that when Carling Avenue makes such sense? Just to show some mean spirit, perhaps?
